Heart smiles

Elijah.
As I was looking through some old pictures,
I found this darling one of you.
Nemo is cute, but he doesn't stand a chance when you're in the picture -even with his gimpy fin.

As I was reminiscing, a memory came to mind. One that I had completely forgot about, one that I never wanted to forget.
It's simple, but it just makes my heart smile you know?

You were four years old,(in three days you will be five!)
It was during the winter time when I took off school to get ready for mine and Tim's wedding. Mom was in the King & I and needed some extra help around the house. I was SO lucky to be the one that got to take care of you and Jack! We had SO much fun together! You had three things that you liked to do everyday.

1. Play with your pirates and knights
2. Watch Treehouse
3. Have tickle time with me!

It was a day full of tickles and tag and we were having a blast.
I can just remember the sound of your little feet stampeding around the house and your maniacal laugh as I chased you.
But then I had to go run an errand. You, as always, wanted to come with me. I buckled you in the back seat and hopped up in the front. As I turned my head around to pull out of the driveway, I couldn't help but smile at you. I love you so much. And even though you were so young, even though I didn't say it, I think you  could tell. Because then I heard your soft sweet voice say the most touching words.

"I like you Jordan"

You were beaming. I was beaming. I think the car was beaming ;)
I love that memory, and now, neither you or I will ever forget it.
I love you baby brother.

Sincerely
The Mrs.

The most beautiful girl in the world.

Let me introduce you to my cousin
Taryn.
She is my very best friend. There is not a more kind hearted person on the planet. She never has anything rude to say about anyone, but rather nice things to say about everyone. When I'm with her I cannot stop smiling; she radiates a joy of life that is contagious to everyone she meets. Today is her birthday.
Happy birthday to the most beautiful girl in the world.

Simply Stunning

We do everything together :

We go camping together

We do theatre together.
Taryn has the voice of a siren.
Last summer I got to be her doo-wap girl and she got to be my mom!
Best summer ever.
The summer before that we both got to be clowns :)
Funnest scene ever.

We go to dances together.
... And go crazy :)

She was my maid of honour.
Now most of you probably don't know this. But we had a limo at our wedding that came and drove Tim and I to our hotel in Calgary.
The reason most of you don't know about it, is because it wasn't in the plans. Taryn completely surprised me with this most memorable gift. This woman goes over and beyond.
So lucky to have her in my life.

We support each other.

We travel together.
Disneyland is one of my most treasured memories.

We live together.
I remember this one time, I was having a sad night, and even though I'm a selfish bed hog, and Taryn's bed dipped in the centre where she had no choice but to be victim of my almost violating and constraining cuddle, even though she would receive zero sleep that night, she let me sleep with her :) Chelan can attest that that is no easy thing to do. And Taryn didn't just "let" me. She asked me to sleep wit her! Not because she needed it, but she knew I did. She is always there when I need her.

We sing together.
(This picture was taken at our recital)
Taryn is my favourite person to sing with.
I love her so much. The statement at the top of the picture only depicts a fraction of how important she is to me. These past few months I have been away I have missed her dearly...
BUT GUESS WHAT!!!!

For her birthday her mom gave her a plane ticket to HAWAII!!!!
Taryn, I could have sent you a present in the mail... but Tim and I have better ideas for when you are here. So be prepared. ;)
I love you SO much and happy 20th birthday!!!!

P.S. Thank you Auntie Laura for giving this gift to Taryn. I think it was an even bigger gift for me! You are the most thoughtful mother! I'm so excited!

Sincerely
The Mrs.

A spoonful of sugar

Today my sisters and I had a tea party. It was delightful! We dressed up, spoke in english accents, put on red lipstick, drank lemonade and ate cookies. I think my favourite part was Rachel's homemade parasol. Enjoy :)

However as the week passed, it  turned out to be not so lonely. As a matter of fact it turned out to be rather lovely. So in conclusion of the weeks experiences I decided to give it a new name :

Ma famille :)

My family is simply the greatest. I just love them! Moving to edmonton this past year made me realize how much I miss them. It feels so good to be home for Christmas, and I am so happy to be able to spend it with such wonderful people.

This is my family pretending to be civilized.

and this is how my family really is...

Kennedy: She is spunky, talented, and incredibly silly. Every time I see her I am amazed at how grown up she is becoming. What a beauty.

Spencer : She has many many special talents. She is my mini twin. Spencer is the most helpful kind person around. I just love the little cutie to pieces.

Rachel: Sweetheart. Nothing else needs to be said.

Bronwyn : She is the most sassy, smart and witty person you will ever meet, absolutely hilarious. You will never loose Bronwyn because you can always hear her, even from a miles away.

Eli: Okay so I just can't get over how adorable my brother is. He is going to be the biggest stud around.

Jack: He gives really good hugs.

The sisters: Snow White, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Cinderella

Brotherly love

My mother is so beautiful.

Parents : Wouldn't be anywhere without them!

These pictures were all taken by Danna Schaffer in our favourite neighbours backyard: Max Hardy. He is the sweetest man in the world.

Blood and Chocolate

Taryn Lyster :
My roommate,  my cousin, my best friend,
my shoulder to cry on, and the reason my stomach is still sore from laughing...
Simply amazing.

Now one of Taryn's quirks that I am completely in love with, is her passion for movies. It's absolutely incredible, it floors me. She has her own personal collection of 149 movies. I won't have to rent any movies this whole year! :) Now I myself do not share this intense love of movie watching, so when Taryn suggests watching a movie I am sometimes reluctant. Today I decided that I would happily watch a movie with her, no sighs, no groans, just a peaceful afternoon spent with my best friend :) ...we watched a movie called Blood and Chocolate. Haha it was very interesting. I'm very sorry to say that I fell asleep...it's a bad habit of mine. Now even though I fell asleep, and even though we watched a movie called Blood and Chocolate, it was an afternoon full of sunshine. Taryn and I are going to have a great year :)
